Tailgating in Mobile
Everyone knows about tailgating at a football game but Mobile takes it step further and is creative in finding ways to put on a spread of food and libations.
Mardi Gras is a festive time of the year and everyone wants to watch a parade. Of course, our parades include krewe members who throw beads and trinkets but also moonpies and peanuts along with various candies and snacks. So, it makes sense for Mobile parade goers to set up their own food station, fire up the grill and pull out the lawn chairs along the streets.
Another interesting event for a tailgate is during the Azalea Trail 10K Run. The Azalea Trail Run is one of the premier 10K road races in the United States with thousands of runners from all over the world compete. Running down oak-shaded streets lined by magnificent old homes and if you are lucky blooming azaleas makes even the spectators hungry so once again they bring out their lawn chairs on their front lawns and partake in mimosas, Bloody Marys and yummy brunch food.
Mobilians are very social and look for any reason to throw a party and enjoy their Southern Hospitality.
