Here in the South we have several sayings but one of them is “every word has 3 syllables”. That holds true for our beautiful city’s name. You can always tell when someone on television or on a phone voice loop is not from the South. They pronounce Mobile as if it were a cute little adornment that hangs over a baby crib or now since cell phones are dominant a mobile phone.
That is not correct. Mobile is pronounced with 3 syllables like this Mo-be-el, so now if you are thinking about moving “down South” you will blend right in. We would love to have you.
